REGISTRATIONS ARE NOW CLOSED.  DUE TO NEW COVID RESTRICTIONS WE HAVE REACHED OUR CAPACITY.  

*El Paso County Colorado has moved to Level 2 Covid Restrictions.  In an effort to host this meet and to follow guidelines to help stop the spread of Covid-19 we are asking the following:

1. All Athletes wear a mask when not running, all specators, volulnteers and coaches wear a mask at all times.  Our event managment team will ask those not wearing a mask to kindly depart the venue.  

2.  We are asking that runners only attend with one parent.  If you are attending with two family members kindly maintain social distance.  Please no siblings, grand parents, friends etc.  Thank you for your understanding.

3.  Kindly depart the venue as soon as your runner is done racing.  We will post race results at:  https://halsports.net/event/kokopelli-xc-invitational/

4. If you are currently in a school mandated quarantine due to exposure to Covid-19 you will need to present a negative Covid test within 24 hours of the race (Nov. 5th or 6th) and to have been at least 8 days from exposure to someone with confirmed Covid-19.

Packet pick up - 60 min. prior to your start time:  If you are running for a team your team coach will pick up your race packet.  If your coach is not attending then select one person on your team to pick up your team packet.  If you are running unattached we will have you pick up your individual race number.

Awards Gaiter: 1st-5th Age Groups, 1st-10th HS

The Kokopelli High School Invitational will be hosted on Friday afternoon Nov. 6th.  Due to the loss of daylight we will start the first wave at 3:00pm as we will have just switched to Daylight Savings Time.  The Girls HS Invitational will run first in waves of 25 runners at a time.  We will run as many waves as necessary to accommodate participants.  The boys Invitational will start immediately following the girls waves and similarly be run in waves a 25 runners spacially distanced at the start. Boys race will start approximately 3:45-4:00pm. Every runner will wear a chip timing number and therefore no matter what wave or position you start the race in your final time and place will be recorded based on your actual start and finish. 

*We will post on this website runner's wave assignments and wave start times on Thursday Nov. 5th.  We will also post wave assignments and wave times at Registration.  Please refrain from emailing asking about wave assignments.  Thank you.

We ask that all runners, spectators, volunteers and coaches wear a mask or gaiter.  Like CHSAA rules, we ask that runners warm up and cool down wearing a mask but once on the starting line they may remove the mask.  As soon as runners cross the finish line we ask that they put the mask or gaiter back on and move quickly from the finish line area.  Parents and spectators MUST socially distance and we ask that you kindly leave the start and finish area as soon as your runner is finished.   The course has many locations where you can see your runner a couple of times so please spread out and not congregate at the start and finish areas.  Thank you!

We will alter these requirements should the Health Department ease restrictions.  Check back to this website for updates closer to the race.  We will post runners waves and start times on Wednesdat, Nov. 4th by 8pm.

The Kokopelli HS Invitational will be FAST and FLAT.  We are offing this event as a way to finish off your HS XC season on fast, flat and accurate 5k course.   When registering for this event PLEASE provide an accurate season best so that we can place you in an appropriate wave.  Please indicate what team you are a member of whether it is a HS or Club Team. We understand that you all want to run a fast time so kindly provide an accurate seed time.  Keep in mind Co.MileSplit.com is a way for us to verify your seed time.  Thanks for your understanding.

The Kokopelli Age Group Invitational will start at 10:00am on Saturday, November 7th.  We will run in age groups in waves of 25 runners at a time.  These races will all be chip timed.  Please read the information above about wearing a mask/gaiter, socially distancing, entering your seed time.  The information above pertains to the Age Group Invitational as well.

8 & Under (born 2012+) 2 km (1.24 miles)            Girls 10:00am /Boys 10:30am

9 & 10 (born 2010-2011) 3 km (1.86 miles)         Girls11:00am/Boys 11:30am

11 & 12 (born 2008-2009) 3 km (1.86 miles)         Girls 1:00pm/Boys 1:30pm

13 & 14 (born 2006-2007) 4 km (2.48 miles)         Girls 2:00pm /Boys 2:30pm

15-18 (born 2002-2005) 5k (3.1 miles)                Girls  3:00pm/Boys 4:00pm

*Age Group Athletes (not HS athletes) race the age they are as of December 31st, 2020.  In other words, if you are 10 years old today and you have a birthday Dec. 1st you will run in 11 & 12 age group.

Race day numbers can be picked up under the Packet Pick up Tent starting 60 min. prior to the first event of the day. The race number should be worn on the front of their uniform.  If you lose your number prior to the start of your race please let an official know.  We will replace the number for a nominal fee. 

Registration Cost $20.00

Packet Pick up:

2:00 pm Friday for HS Invitational. 

9:00 am Saturday for the Age Group Invitational.  

Coaches will pick up packets for their teams.   This will keep the lines at the registration table manageable.  Unattached runners and HS runners not on a Team will come to the registration tent to pick up their numbers.

*The Health Dept. wants athletes and spectators to leave the event ASAP and have discouraged offering an awards ceremony. We will do our best to have awards presented at the race site. If our timing system is not able to produce them quickly we will mail the awards or give them to Team/Club coaches.  We will offer awards to the top 10 HS B/G runners and top 5 Age Group B/G runners. We will, post race results on our website at www.KokopelliKids.com and on www.Co.MileSplit.com as soon as possible.
